Nutmeg is used in a variety of sweet and savory recipes. Sweet potatoes can be baked and then served with butter, sour cream, a drizzle of maple syrup and a little sprinkle of ground nutmeg on top for a delicious and easy side dish for chicken or meat. You can add a little bit of nutmeg to a milkshake or yogurt smoothie to give it an unexpected flavor boost. White sauces such as bechamel or mornay, a white sauce with cheese added, are typically sprinkled with organic nutmeg before being cooked in the oven.
